The Sound of Colors. A recital to celebrate the art work of John Held, Jr. Jennifer Youngs (professor of voice) and Jihea Hong-Park (professor of piano) joined students from Brigham Young University—Logan Reid, Anna Low, Josie Larsen, Molly Smith, and Peter Blackham—and featured LDS composers from the early 20th century: Willy Reske, Leigh Harline, Arthur Shepherd, and Crawford Gates..

Warren Winegar: Trends 22. Private art dealer, Warren Winegar, presented an illustrated discussion on trends in the Contemporary Art market.

Reading from rare, first edition copies of Held’s four collections of short stories, a duo of actors (Rebecca Holt-Gilmore and Joel Richards) gave a performance of selected stories (largely unknown) from the Jazz Age, published between 1930-1937.

The first million-selling Parker Brothers game, “The World’s Liveliest Party Game,” was “Pit.” Based on the Frank Norris novel of 1903, The Pit, this classic card trading game was reintroduced in 1919 with card and box design by John Held, Jr. The winner took home a rare, first edition of the game, from 1919.
March 11, 2022, 7:00 p,m, - Opening night of the gallery’s latest exhibition, John Held, Jr. with remarks by the show’s curator, Glen Nelson.
March 4, 2022, 7:00 p.m. - The inaugural prize of The Ariel Bybee Endowment at the Center for Latter-day Saint Arts was announced live. The winning composer will create art songs for the international soprano, Rachel Willis-Sørensen, who joined remotely from Germany and announced the winner: S. Andrew Llloyd.
February 25, 2022 - Sonos Venti: Dithyramb - The Center for Latter-day Saint Arts welcomed its new Executive Director, Mykal Urbina, with remarks by her and a recital in her honor by the woodwind quintet Sonos Venti.
February 18, 2022 - Mission: Joy - Finding Happiness in Troubles Times - Film screening about His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu with introduction by photographer Jane Feldman, Tutu’s photographer for 25 years.
February 11, 2022 - Michelle Dorrance and Donovan Dorrance: Dance and Music -Choreographer Michelle Dorrance and composer Donovan Dorrance talked about their collaborations with Michelle’s eponymous dance company founded in 2011, which The New York Times praises, “With each performance of Dorrance Dance, tap expands.”
